This book tackles the big question of injuries while at war. The main character Private Matt Duffy suffers A Traumatic Brain Injury or as it is called TBI while at war in Iraq. He cant help but think that he has done something that doesn't remember. He thinks that the doctors treating him know what happened to him but wont tell him. Eventually he realizes that the other members of his squad are in the same room as him some of their names are Justin and another ones name is Wolf. Matt wakes to a man in military uniform and the man gives him the Purple Heart. In the beginning he fall in and out of conciseness because of his TBI. Eventually he is able to stay awake and figure out that he was still in Baghdad but in what the nurse described as the Green Zone. Matt remembered that him and his squad were instructed to patrol Sadr City. Sadr City is an insurgent hotbed. He learns that his doctor s name is Dr. Kwong. Justin says that he thought that matt was a goner. He said that matt was on the reciving end of a RPG. Then Justin tells matt he whole story that they were chasing a taxi and it got away from them so they went into an abandoned house and went up to the top floor and started to scan the horizon for snipers and then the RPG hit the wall 20 feet away from Matt. After a little while a female officer came in and told him he needed to call home before the army can put out a press release of what happened to Matt and is squad. So he calls home and tells his mom what happened to him.
